Feeling fitter.......but losing weight at a slow pace

Here we are week 5 and feeling fitter, infact I'll go as far to say that I even look better. Now that's a bold statement, how can it be justified? Well here's the measure....when I wear a tie it no longer arcs over my stomach but drops down in a straight, well straighter line and my shirts fit more comfortably even after I've had a bite to eat.....no more hazzard warnings, beware of low flying popping buttons!

Thank you for all the comments on my last posting, I was having problems guessing who had sent the anonymous comments (they left no indication in the text) but I now believe I have worked out who they are and have sent reply emails to let them know....keep reading you jealous ones.

So how was my week......I completed the 3 runs changing my approach for the week, not making a note of time just going out and enjoying the run. So what went wrong when I was out yesterday, a four mile run that was a psychological struggle.....god did I want to stop and walk. It was very cold, the coldest day I've experienced since I started running this year. Now normally when I run I think about what I'm going to write but this time I couldn't think of anything (I suppose all writers suffer from writers block at some point). All I kept thinking was "please let something funny happen". Needless to say nothing did but I managed to keep running for the full distance.

The Diet, as suggested in the title my weight loss is happening at a slower rate than I anticipated. My eating habits are alot better than what they were, even allowing for the odd treat that came in the form of a delicious chocolate cheesecake on Friday night. Some people have wild drunken nights, I have cheesecake.......and I enjoyed every mouthfull. That aside, I have been good (Rachael will vouch for this).

So what was the weigh in result, 81.2kg (12.8st) a mammoth loss of 0.3kg (0.7lbs).......aarrgghh, what am I doing wrong. I have been advised that I shouldn't be too hard on myself and that I should start weighing myself on a monthly basis. The reason for this is because I am toning my muscles via the weekly running and vibro sessions and with muscle weighing more than fat the weight loss would not be as great.......I like the sound of that, it will do for me.

So my target loss for the month will be 5lbs (but because I bought myself a new set of scales, I will be checking each week but not reporting to my public). I will continue with my 3 runs and 2 vibro sessions a week but am now also contemplating finding a 10k race in March to give me a target.....any suggestions???

Gordy,
So, you're losing very little weight but gaining muscle....that's interesting.
Maybe you should forget about trying to change into a slim healthy individual, and channel your energy into becoming the next Mr Universe!
Ken.
