The hardest part was the training, running 10, 15 and 20 miles on the build up to the marathon proved less than appealing. On the day though, it all seemed worthwhile, with the support from my family (Rachael, Oliver and Imogen) and the in laws (Maria and Phil) which kept me going, they were a welcome site at the end. My fellow runners were great, a big thankyou goes out to the ladies that ran me in for the last 5 miles (their encouragement saw me through the final climb to the finish line). I'll even forgive the rain that made the last 8 miles a bit of a chore and had me questioning my desire to even run a marathon.
A celebratory and well deserved (in my opinion) vanilla latte in my new found favourite confectionary store completed the day.
Would I do it again.......well it's been ticked off on my list of things to do, but who knows?
