Week 2.......and the results just in!!!

So I've completed week 2 of my journey to a healthier, fitter and down right sexier (not that I haven't achieved the sexier part already, I'm just fine tuning that aspect) Gordon.

Not a bad week, I've completed my 3 runs for the week and my dietary habits have been good....bar a slight weak moment on Saturday whilst out at Ikea.

Anyway, this is how things went.....on Tuesday 9th I completed a circuit of Olney (2.75 miles) on a wet, windy and slight drizzle of a day in a time of 28.45 minutes. I took the clockwise route meaning I had the bugger of a hill climb, but funnily enough it didn't seem too bad this time (what does this mean, have I now progressed into being a professional runner.......NOT).

You already know about my run on Thursday 11th, my two circuits of Emberton Lake (proof that I'm no professional).......if not, read my entry dated 11th January titled, "the not expected mid week update".

Finally my run on Saturday 12th, this was a run that I would normally do on the Sunday but I was undergoing a sense of guilt due to my weakness at Ikea where I couldn't help myself and tucked into a portion of swedish meatballs and chips, followed by a slice of cheesecake......you must believe me when I say that the cheesecake was forced upon me. A circuit of Olney (2.75 miles) on yet another windy day (I keep telling myself, it is winter so it will be windy). I ran in an anti clockwise direction meaning that I could enjoy a downhill and primarily flat circuit. A very enjoyable run........oh no! did I say enjoyable, is this running lark starting to be fun!!!.....Well I manage to complete the route in 27.01 minutes, my fastest run to date and I did feel good.

The diet...... all in all I'm quite proud of myself, I've made a concious effort to watch what I'm eating (and by that I don't mean if I see it I eat it). I've been noting the calories and avoiding the snacking which has meant my weigh in today registered........83.2kg (13.1st). I've lost 1.2Kg (2.6lbs), not the target 3lbs, but I was close.

What does week 3 hold for me.......3 running sessions and a target weight loss of 3lbs.

well done on keeping up the running gordon! I am pleased to announce that I went for a run tonight which takes me up to 5 runs this year on the 15th Jan which is a proud average of one every 3 days. It wasn't fun getting home after a crowded train journey standing up all of the way and then going out in to the freezing cold as soon as I got home but I feel glad I did it now. The fact that I could rely on logging on to this blog and to read that you have kept up the running helped me get out there so you have to keep it up to keep on inspiring me! Don't feel too bad about your Ikea relapse. I have recently been sited in the Nottingham Ikea with a giant plate of Swedish meatballs and with a bacon & egg roll in a B&Q Warehouse in Surrey.

Hello gordy (aka Denzel)

Well i have to say if you dont make it as the new super model of Olney then you can certainly try a carreer in writing ( i think this could get published one day)

Congratulations on your amazing motivation and bravery. I have to say there is a slight selfishness to your blog as it has turned into motivation for Ben. The much smaller version of your belly on Ben is slowly turning into a 2 pack (6 pack? Yeah right, i wish!!!)

Any way, keep up the good work Gordy and congratulations on your newly found scale reading skills.

Lots of love
Roisin

I am constantly running around the Olney circuit, hoping, just hoping, that I will bump into Sexy Denzel again. But so far, no luck! Anyway, despite that, keep up the good work.....you are doing fantastically! Don't beat yourself up about Ikea meatballs....there must be worse thinks out there...like Courtyard Fat Boys?
