Now this was not expected, maybe my mid week updates will become a regular feature. Here's a story I must share with you as again it was a test of my determination to succeed. I went for a run yesterday.....no real suprise as this would be my normal first run of the week. So what was different on this day I hear you ask (short pause while you ask the question)......well here the story begins.
It's 11:00am, I'm dressed and ready to go out for my run which I have decided will be a circuit of Olney in a clockwise direction 2.75 miles (no fear of the uphill climb, I laugh in the face of its challenge...ha, ha, ha). It was at this point that I was posed with my dilemma.....should I go or should I stay. My darling wife Rachael who was still in bed at this time (please don't ask why, it's a long story and she does have a genuine reason.....Oliver and Imogen our two lovely children, need I say more). Anyway, she hits me with the line "come back to bed". What an invitation, I catch a glimpse of myself in the full length mirror and think...am I achieving my Denzel status early? So what to do, should I stay or should I go.......I decide to go (aaargh, right or wrong decision).
So I'm running with the invitation still playing on my mind and I'm thinking did I make the right choice. I finish my run and achieve my best run to date clocking a time of 26.44 minutes and in the process make short work of the uphill climb. Thinking back, perhaps I managed to produce my fastest run because I was hoping that the invitation would still be open. Anyway, all in all I had a great run which I really enjoyed...............and was the invitation still open............now you wouldn't want me to make a habit of sharing my lifes intimate moments would you!!!!!!

Ken.
AARRRGGHH Gordon you put me to shame. What is the secret of your willpower? I was supposed to go running tonight but I sort of came up the excuse that it too windy and have called it off and ended up going to shop in Waitrose instead. (I blame roisin as she didnn't do a great job encouraging me to go running). And to make things worse I am sitting here typing this with a can of stella on the go. I now feel terrible - Gordon how do you do it? I now need to go running at the weekend to reedeem myself....
As I sit here reading comments left on this blog, Gordon is studying a book I bought him years ago. 'Super Juice'!! He really IS a transformed man. Now, now, it means juicing for health & healing, nothing saucy. He has also just cooked the most fabulous healthy meal of fish wrapped in parma ham on a bed of red lentils, carrots & celery with crushed new potatoes. It was delicious and hearty. Gordon hasn't cooked for a very long time, he certainly has a new lease of life. So far so good, I'm terribly impressed. Long may it last. Rachael xxx
God I'm not sure I can take all this excitement - and its only just begun!
