Week 7......not a great deal to report, but I'm feeling fit and healthy.

So here I am having completed 7 weeks of my fitness regime and looking for something witty to write. No such luck I'm afraid on this posting, the humour has dried up so if you'd like to add some of your own wit to this posting via your comments.....please do.

As normal, I've completed 3 runs for the week the only difference being a slightly longer trip and a change in my route. Based on the fact that I have now entered the Great Daffodil Run which I understand is run over an undulating course, I feel I need to get some hill training in. As a result of this, I have now increased my run to 4.25 miles a route which takes me from my home to Emberton Park, a circuit of the park and then home again but via Weston Road and Aspreys which basically means I have a bugger of a hill to climb. I tackled this without too much problem on my first run completing the route in 43.43 minutes. My second outing was a little more difficult when it came to tackling the hill both physically and mentally. I'm not sure why this was the case I felt fine, I had completed my vibro session and set off straight after feeling great. The session had given me the warm up I required and I completed the circuit of Emberton Park with no real worries. I completed the route in 45.46 minutes and it did make me question as to whether I could add another 2 miles to complete a 10k run now looming in a couple of weeks. My third run which was yesterday had me out on a glorious Sunday morning.....it appeared that winter had come and gone the weather was great. I set off at a comfortable pace (which I felt aired on the side of being quite quick by my standards) and proceeded to maintain this pace throughout the run (even on the uphill climb). Needless to say when I completed the route I was sure that I had run my best time for the week......oh no! I clocked 43.45 minutes, not a bad run but not the quickest (no entry to be made in the Gordon Passee's edition of the Guinness Book of Records).

So that's it for running, I'm still out there doing my bit but looking to do a little bit more.

Vibro Training.....my first 10 sessions will be up on Friday so it will be time for me to measure and report on the results.....don't expect to see any before and after photos, I don't want to scare anybody.

The Diet....I'm still losing weight but as before I'm not reporting the results until the end of the month. What I can say is that I could possibly hit my target weight of 12.5st by the end of the month....here's hoping.

So that's it, another week gone and a new week starting....bye for now.
