You're a hard audience to impress, I reached my target weight and was waiting on all the comments of congratulations to come rolling in......but alas it was not to be. Never mind, it's onwards and upwards, the year is still young and there is so much to be achieved.
The Great Daffodil (10k) Run is looming, infact it's on Sunday (4th March) at 10:45am and I will be sporting my race number 979. Do I run it for a good time (not on this occassion), I'll settle for completing the distance as this will be my longest run since starting this fitness regime. I reckon I'll be looking at completing the distance in around 65 minutes....but hey! who's clock watching.
Just before filling you in on my running experiences for the week can I just congratulate Jane on her winning the Olney Pancake Race (a race I was tempted to enter but I just couldn't find an outfit that would compliment my figure and obviously disguise the fact that I am a man).
So as far as running goes. I'm now running 4.5 miles and have clocked times of 44.54 and 44.13 minutes. The route is just an addition to the Olney, Emberton Park circuit but I'm tackling the Weston Road and Aspreys uphill climb to hopefully prepare me for the Daffodil run. I had an easy 3 mile run on Friday which was all my legs could manage, it also made me feel better about the calories I'd putting on that evening at the black tie, lots of wine and rich food event. The plan for this week is to complete another 4.5 mile run and then have a last easy run before Sunday.
Vibro Training.....I've now completed my first 10 sessions and can report the following results:
Measurements:
Neck: was 40cm, now 39.5cm, a loss of 0.5cm.
Chest: was 105cm, now 105cm, no change there.
Stomach: was 100cm, now 95cm, a loss of 5.0cm.
Waist: was 94cm, now 93cm, a loss of 1.0cm.
I'm quite happy with the results and now have a mental picture of me losing my party barrel stomach and getting an attractive six pack (maybe I am mental, but set your sights high and whatever you achieve you're bound to be happy). I have also been told that I will now be progressing from foundation level to a more challenging program.....oh my god, they were just toying with me the real work is yet to begin. Needless to say, I have not been put off and having seen the positive results, I look forward to my next 10 sessions.
The Diet...or as I now like to call it "my healthy eating regime". The weight loss has been great and as mentioned before I can tick off the 12.5 stone achievement. So where do I go from here... I shall continue to eat healthily (although not denying myself the odd treat from time to time, I'm only human). I will continue to keep an eye on my weight as I have read that my ideal weight should be 12 stone. How is this calculated? if I manage to tone up and have more muscle than fat, wouldn't I be heavier. Further investigation is required but as it stands I'm a very happy man.
Am I Denzel......not yet, but I'm on my way. Let's see if I can get Denzel to start a blog where his target will be to look like me.

Having read the comment from the "Norfolk Butcher" you seem to be making quite an impression....even with people who've never met you before.
Keep up the good work....it's really starting to pay dividends now. I did notice when we were line dancing together last week. Looking forward to running with you at the Daffodil Jamboree!

I just want to say though, I’m very impressed with your dedication so far, not just to your keep fit and healthy regime but for keeping up the excellent work with the blog. ;-)
Good work. Well done mate. Let me know when you're up for another pint of Guiness or three!
