They're very white, take a look for yourself

I've treated myself to a new pair of shoes as my original shoes (which are the same make and model) are a year old and I'm very concious of the support they give me.....I don't want to injure myself. I never used to think about injuries, when I was younger in the long and distant past (not that long ago, I'm only 41) I trained and ran half marathons (3 to be precise in the space of 2 years....I don't want to create the impression that I was some amazing half marathon runner) and during that time I never gave a thought about injuries. Now I'm older, a little more on the heavy side and I have a wife that trains on a weekly basis with her running club offering good advice, I am alot more wary about injuries.............now that I've said all this I hope you all feel that the expense was justified.
So how has the week been, well the running has been fine, I've increased my distance from 2.75 miles to 4 miles. The route takes me from home to Emberton Park, a circuit of Emberton Park and then back home. I'll just relate to it as my 4 mile run, the clockwise or anti clockwise reference was getting boring and too long to type.
My first run on Tuesday (23rd) it was a nice bright sunny day, you wouldn't have thought it was winter but for it being very cold. I completed the run in 38.41 minutes and was suitably impressed with my performance. My second run on Thursday (25th) I class as my celebratory run for Burns Night. Basically I was on customer site for lunch and tucked into a good sized plate of haggis, neeps and tatties, therefore I was in need of a run to burn off the calories which I completed 38.46 minutes.
Here's a question for you, when you're running behind someone not far infront who's walking, why does it take an extra strong effort to pass that person.......do they speed up because they know you're behind them, or is it just me. I suppose it could be my heavy breathing looming up behind them that puts them into a state of panic so they quicken up just to get away.
On to my last run of the week completed Sunday morning (28th) at 8:00am. Going for a run on a Sunday morning is a great feeling, the weather was fine and all I was thinking was "this is great".
During my run I was beeped by a couple of lads going past in their car, I look but don't recognise them but wave as they are waving........the thought runs through my mind, am I being mistaken for my idol celebrity Denzel Washington!!! I complete the run in 39.10 minutes ending a good training week which included 2 sessions of vibration training.
Speaking of vibration training I have been advised by my trainer that your blood sugar level drops after a session (which would account for my food cravings) therefore to aid recovery I should eat protein enriched food after each session.....phew!
The Diet, there are highs and lows, good points and bad points......this should be giving you an idea that perhaps things didn't go quite as planned.
The Highs.....I didn't give in to the temptation of a Kentucky (this is my favourite upon all favourites of fast food). Can you believe I sat in a Kentucky and turned down the offer of food (in the old days, or should I say "not so healthy concious days") I would have tucked into a three peice variety meal consisting of 3 peices of chicken, 1 crispy strip, 2 hot wings, a portion of fries and a coke...god help me if I chant those magic works "Go Large".
I've resurrected the juicer from the garage (a present bought for me by Rachael about 3 years ago and still looks brand new) and have started to produce healthy juice drinks from my recipe book Super Juice (so as not to confuse anybody, when I say my recipe book that is in possession only, I did not write the book). My first creation which was enjoyed on Sunday was aptly called "Peak Performer" and consisted of pears, pineapple, grapes and apples. I'm thinking of adding the recipes to my blog so that if any of you out there wants to create their own super juice you can.
The Lows.....I didn't manage my target loss for the week of 3lbs, my weigh in as of this morning was 81.5kg (12.8st) a loss of 0.7kg (1.5lbs). I suppose a loss is better than a gain so I should be happy, but I didn't think I'd been too naughty with my eating habits so I was hoping to have lost at least 1kg (2.2lbs.).
Anyway, never mind I must keep thinking positively. As before, my weeks training will include 3 running sessions (no increase on the 4 miles) and 2 vibration sessions. My target weight loss will be 2lbs (I need to give myself a chance of achieving the weight loss target).
Thank you for reading and keep your comments rolling in, they help me to stay focussed and I enjoy reading what you have to say.
